Finally, had the time to draw something from The Force Awakens. This piece took, what, something like 10 hours? Done over around a week.
Well, The Force Awakens didn't have THAT much characters I like, but Ren did give me an opportunity to try a more realistic shading, which I feel would better suit me. And the end result didn't look that bad.
Used a reference and tried to make the lighting and detail as best as possible. Still looks strange in some places, most notably the robe--I did that in around 2.5 hours as I am done with the details. Also, still not quite sure how to draw a light source just yet. Still need to learn on that, so give me your thoughts, if you would.
Done in 200 gsm sketch paper, with HB, 2B, 4B, and 6B pencils. Lost my nice HB halfway and used some pencil from a hotel. I've posted how I did this piece in my blog
